What Do My Lab Test Reports Indicate?

Posted on Tue, 26 Apr 2016
Question: Hi, my son (now 6 years old) has a pseudarthrosis of Left tibia (right from birth - 06 XXXXXXX 10) .
He fell down when he was One and Half year old (approx July 11) and his Tibia got fractured. The leg was in plaster and Doctor was hoping to get it healed. He was operated Mcfarland grafting last year September 2015 with fibula grafted of his right leg.
However the Tibia is not healed and the new grafted fibula is also now broken.
His leg is in plaster but he can walk. He also has brown spots on his body. The child is quite active. and regularly goes to school.

Is there is any SURE remedy (whatever the way it may be) ?

Please guide..

regards,
doctor

Brief Answer:
Needs an implant and internal fixation surgically.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
I have seen the attached reports. The pseudoarthrisis of tibia is due to weak tibia may be due to neurofibromatosis. Usually tibia heals in plaster in case of children but in your son's case since the grafting has failed, it is best to either get an implant fixation with grafting done or Ilizarov ring fixation can help.
The bone needs a proper surgical treatment for healing.
I hope this answers your query.
