default
Posted on Mon, 14 Dec 2015
Question: Hi Doctor,
I have got my preventive health checkup done yesterday. Reports are attached. Few things seems to be out of desirable range. Request you to please suggest

1. Whatever precautions I need to take considering my reports.
2. Whatever medications can I take if required for any deficiency.
3. I have a problem of pain in my left leg's heel. The pain is mainly while walking. It starts from heel of left leg and covers arch as well. Please suggest what could be the probable cause of the same and any medications or exercise which I can do.
4. Another problem is that I am having frequent mouth ulcer is past 2-3 months on the sides od my tongue. I am applying Smyle mouth ulcer gel whenever it occurs. Any other precaution/suggestion which I can take to avaoid these ulcers from happening?

Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Your vitamin B12 is low

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for your query.

Your report is mostly normal. Only issue is low vitamin B12. For this you need to take B12 supplements. It is available as injection or tablets/capsules. If you are a vegetarian then tablets can be taken, but if you take non-vegetarian food then injection will be needed. One brand is neurobiob plus tablet. Another is neucobal forte. These supplements are to be taken once daily for atleast 3 months and recheck. If injection is needed then you will need to contact physician.

Regarding your heel pain it may be bone spur or plantar fascitis. Avoid high heel shoes, enough cushioning in the shoes should be present. See an orthopedic surgeon to diagnose the condition and appropriate treatment.

Regarding ulcers, there can be many causes but usually happen due to vitamin B complex deficiency. For this you can try
becosule capsule once daily.
Listerine mouthwash for infection.
Drinking cleaner water.
A consultation with dentist will also help to rule out a dental cause.
If dental cause is ruled out then followup with ear, nose and throat specialist.

Hope it helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
