Question: Hi.. i got my Herpes test result back. Here is the result

Could someone please explain whether I have herpes or not?

No recent infection.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone through the mentioned reports. While IgM indicates recent infection, IgG indicates existant immunity which is likely to have occurred due to a previous infection. In short you had HSV-1 sometime in the past but there seems to be no recent infection.

You never had any infection with HSV-2.

Nope. I don't have any kind of herpes history in the past. Then how did i get this now! It is making me sad.

COuld you please tell me is it harmful? And how i can cure this?

It is a very common virus. Most of us have been infected with it.

Thanks for writing back. Sorry for not being able to respond faster. HSV-1 is a very common virus and it causes the cold sores that we often get. Most of us have been infected with it sometime or the other. It can be so minor that we might not even realize it. You need not worry or become sad. It is not something harmful and needs no treatment or cure.
