Brief Answer:
Borderline levels, no medication, lifestyle change and supplement

Detailed Answer:
Hello Mr Sree, I am Dr Mody and I will be addressing your concern.
Now considering that you are a 39 year old active male, with no diabetes, hypertension, heart issues, you don't smoke and are around ideal weight.
In this circumstances, I wouldn't be much worried with your lipid profile, in context that you need nit be put on medication for the same.
Now evaluating you lipids
1) your total cholesterol is high, we would preferably want it below 200 and ideally less than 180. Now part of this elevation is due to increased HdL, which is a good thing and HdL is the good cholesterol, and as XXXXXXX that's the one which is always lower compounding the risk.
So now the only concern is ldl (the bad cholesterol), if you don't have any risk factors than the preferred option is to decrease it with holistic approach as it will give us overall health benefit rather than just decrease cholesterol. For you the target in next six months would be to bring the ldl under 130 and cholesterol under 200.
So how will we do that
1) diet is most . Cut on red meat egg yellow, oils , ghee in daily food preparation. Also cutting in carbohydrates like rice and potatoes will help.
2-3 serving per week of fish is preferred for the omega 3 fatty acid.
2) 30-45 mins of aerobic exercise per day atleast 5 days a week
3) if you are obese, try reducing weight, by 1-2 kg per month
3) substitute to cleaner oils like olive
4)continue the fruit intake, atleast 2 servings a day. More fiber in body less cholesterol will be absorbed, so vegetables in diet is a must
5) start supplements cod fish oil capsule 1 gms a day of any standard brand available. It has antioxidant properties which will help boost overall immunity and omega 3 fatty acid in them will decrease the cholesterol
6) avoid large meals like only lunch and dinner, 4-5 meals in a day will be ideal
7) other good things like green tea, flax seeds, krill oil attained naturally are good sources.

So you need nit worry about anything, however just take it as an indicator of changing your overall lifestyle for future benefit.
Any doubt will be happy to help.

Brief Answer:
Yes diet and lifestyle would be enough if religiously followed

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Yes diet and lifestyle would be enough, the reason being you don't have other risk factors, so we are on both hurry to bring it down suddenly, rather by all this we can normalise it in a safer way and for life long results.
Omega capsule for atleast 3 months, and do repeat the test after 3 months to see the trend.
You don't require any medication at present and hopefully in future for the same.
Wishing you best of health.
