Posted on Wed, 24 May 2017
Question: Hi Doctor,

I am male aged 23. Recently I am having these very itchy red rashes under both my armpits. Attaching the pics for your reference.
I sweat very much. I never had these type of rashes. These have appeared since the last 10 days. I am taking bath two times a day and keeping them prone to air as long as possible but no result. Please let me know what are those rashes and any medication or lotion that I need to use.
Thanks

Brief Answer:
Possibility of Fox Fordyce disease

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us

I am dr.kakkar (dermatologist).
I have gone through your query and I have viewed the images.
I can see multiple, red, raised bumps in the axillary region.
I will keep a possibility of Fox Fordyce disease which is inflammatory disease of the apocrine sweat glands.
I suggest you to apply a moderately potent topical steroid cream e.g momate cream (mometasone furoate 0.1%), twice daily.
In addition you may also take a tablet of cetrizine 10mg once daily for symptomatic relief from itching.
