Brief Answer:
I would like to add some mucolytic with bronchodilator

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for asking on this platform

I have gone through the query and do understand your concern.
Fever with cough in this age is most likely due to infection(viral or bacterial).
Maxtra contains chlorpheniramine an antiallergic with phenylephrine a decongestant and tixylix also contains an antiallergic that is promethazine and pholcodein a cough suppressant.
Taxim o is an antibiotic and works well in respiratory infection.
Here as both maxtra and tixylix contains antiallergic(although the chemical is different) I would suggest any one of them.
Better to give Tixylix as it contains promethazine which also helps in vomiting.
In addition to this I would like to add syrup like Ambrodil s plus or ambrolite s or mucolyte ls containing some mucolytic, a sputum thinning agent (Ambroxol) with levosalbutamol a bronchodilator which helps in relieving airway spasm.
The dose for this age is usually 5 ml two to three times a day.
As it is a prescription medicine I would request you to get it prescribed by a pediatrician.
You can continue paracetamol for fever and Taxim o as usual.
Avoiding giving cold, sour, too spicy items as these may stimulate the cough receptor and thus can precipitate the cough.

I hope this helps.
Please let me know if you have any more questions.
Wishing for your child's rapid recovery.
Regards
