I have never had a cold sore. I've touched every part of my face, mouth that seems involved but there is no tender spot or pain/soreness or even a tiny red mark. The swelling has gone down some except for the upper lip. It all feels a bit like novicane from a dental procedure. I do not have any dental issues and had my regular check up about a month ago. Could a bug bite cause this type of reaction and not leave a mark or some type of pain?
