Question: I am 50 years old and lately I have been waking up in the morning with an enlarged tongue. It has progressed now to difficult swallowing and anxiety. I also have Plaque phsorisis (SP) untreated due to cost of medication, inflammation, distended stomach, a weird feeling in my upper stomach which feels like my stomach muscles are swollen and pushing on my diaphragm. Clothes are very uncomfortable.

Brief Answer:
Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy is required for evaluation

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

As per your symptoms, the possibility of esophageal muscle disorder should be ruled out.

For this I advise you to kindly get an upper gastrointestinal endoscopy to rule obstructive of the upper aero digestive tract.

Swollen tongue can be a manifestation of underlying autoimmune pathology due to psoriasis.

I generally describe short courses of oral steroid medications to my patients with such symptoms.

Additional e drugs like Proton pump inhibitors of pantoprazole d should be given in your case to minimise the effects of gastritis.

Please check with your physician if he shares my view and if can prescribe this medications to you.
