Brief Answer:
Possibility of GERD is more.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

By your history and description, possibility of GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) is more likely.
It is due to laxity of gastroesophageal sphincter. Because of this, the acid of the stomach tends to come up in the esophagus and cause painful chest. It also causes burping, gaseous feeling etc.

So follow these steps for better symptomatic relief in GERD.
1. Take pantoprazole and levosulperide combination on empty stomach twice daily. It is best for GERD. It is better than alkyl selzer.
2. Avoid oily and spicy food. Avoid junk food. Avoid all these foods especially at night.
3. Go for walking after meals. Avoid stress and tension, be relax and calm.
4. Keep 2-3 pillows under head in bed to prevent reflux.
5. Quit smoking and alcohol if you have these habits.

Since you are above 60 years of age, we should also rule out heart related chest pain.
So please let me know
1. Do you smoke?
2. Do you have hypertension or diabetes?
3. Do you have left sided upper chest pain?
4. Is this your first episode or recurrent pain?

Please reply me answers of above asked questions, so that I can guide you better. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.

Brief Answer:
First get done ecg and 2d echo.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

First of all sorry for late reply as I was busy in other professional obligations.
Since you are diabetic and hypertensive, we should definitely rule out cardiac cause first.
So get done ECG and 2D echo if not done in recent past.
If they are negative then no need to worry much.
Just follow advice given in previous answer.
Don't worry, you will be alright.

Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
