Brief Answer:
Different possible causes

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Acute/recent onset of frequency of urination is most commonly related to an infection of the urogenital tract eg bladder or kidneys or ureter or urethra or prostate

In some cases, more than one area is involved.

Can also occur if the prostate is enlarged but this usually presents with ongoing symptoms.

Diagnosis would require a urinalysis, this can check for infection

Treatment of an infection, if it is confirmed, would be:
(1) Using a lot of fluids unless there is a medical reason why this would not be advisable eg with heart failure or liver or kidney failure

(2) Antibiotics

(3) Cranberry products- these can sometimes help as well

If there is an underlying issue with the prostate, then this may need to be treated with meds for the prostate. Examination of the prostate and a PSA, would help to determine if there are any issues here.

Other causes of urinary frequency include a kidney or bladder stone or another mass but these are usually associated with pain and in some cases, bleeding in the urine.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
