What Causes White Spots Under Front Teeth And Tongue In A Tobacco Chewer?

default
Posted on Thu, 12 May 2016
Question: Ive used chewing tobacco off and on for 6 years. Lately ive been taking my perscribed klonopin under my tounge during bad panic attacks. My tongue has sores, a few little white spots under front teeth, under tongue and swelling lump under the tongue where tongue connects to mouth. Ive attatched pics. Ive noticed the spots and pain recently after dissolving pills under my tongue. Just curious what you think of the pictures. I am a 29 year old white male.

Seems like swollen glands..

Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Welcome to HEALTH CARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain and the pictures attached there seems to be two lumps, one on either side of buccal frenulum and the cause for it can be most commonly inflamed and swollen minor salivary gland that are located in abundance inside mouth..

The other problem of sores and white spots that are painful can be due to side effect of the Klonopin while can also be due to other causes like Nutritional Deficiencies, stress, hormonal imbalances etc..

I would like to know a few more details so that I can guide you towards treatment..

1.Are the bumps under tongue painful and since how long they are present?
2.Did this happen for the first time?
3.Did you take any Medication for the same?

Kindly revert back soon..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.

The bumps are a bit sore. Mainly when i touch them with tongue to see if they are still there. This just recently happened and i believe right when i put klonopin under my tongue. Ive attatched a few more pictures .

Brief Answer:
Seems like traumatic ulcer..

Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Welcome Again..

As per your response and the new pictures attached that is showing better site of the bumps, it seems that the bumps can be due to friction or irritation caused by placement of the tablet under the tongue..

Nothing to worry, as of now it does not seems to be anything serious..
You can start doing warm saline gargles atleast 3 to 4 times a day..
You should take a multivitamin tablet daily..
In case if there is pain you can apply a numbing gel over the ulcers..
You can also take anti inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen..
Keep the area clean and rinse your mouth properly after the tablet is taken..

In case f the symptoms does not improve within a week or there is worsening of the symptoms consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated.
