What Causes White Discharge And Burning Sensation During Urination?

Question: I had pain and hot sensation while urinating. Also noticed off white milky discharge from my penis. I ran a urine culture test. Test result is attached. Galcipro containing Ciprofloxacin 500mg and Tinidazole 600mg were prescribed. Also was prescribed BROMLEY containing bromelain 40mg and crystalline trypsin 1mg. Pain has reduced but off white discharge and hot sensation continue during urination and I noticed itching in the urethra. I took medication for 10 days. Please what do I do? Thank you.

I have carefully gone through the details provided but do not find the reports attached. I would be glad if you could reattach the report. The description seems to be in the favour of urethritis. I have gone through the attached reports. Going by the microscopy, there does not seem to be an infection. However, there is a contradictory statement of both 'significant' and 'scanty' growth of Staphlylococcus. It would be appreciate if you contact the lab back and ask for the specific colony count.
Since you have still not got relief, I would suggest changing the over the antibiotic to some other sensitive antibiotic as mentioned in the report.

A colony count above 10^5 and a raised pus cell count is expected in UTI

We diagnose urinary tract infection (UTI) when the colony count is greater than 10^5 /cumm (1,00,000 per cubic mm). Moreover, in case of an UTI, the pus cell count is expected to be raised. Pus cells indicate the that the body is fighting the presence of the bacteria.

Levofloxacin is more preferrable

I would suggest taking Levofloxacin once daily for 5 days. It seems to be sensitive as per the urine report.

Thank you Dr. I bought the antibiotic but not started to take since it is not up to two weeks I completed the other antibiotics. The pain has reduced but how the white discharge though it has reduced? This lasted for two weeks after treatment. How long does it normally take for complete relief? Thank you.

Although I would not suggest you to self medicate, you need not wait for 2 weeks if you were to start the medication. The clinical response does not take time to appear. Complete relief is expected to occur by the time you complete the antibiotic course.
