What Causes Weakness In Legs And Arms?

default
Posted on Mon, 9 Feb 2015
Question: Hello,
I have been concerned with my weakness in my lower legs and my arms from elbows down. It doesn't happen all the time, but have been recovering from mono since October 1st when I was first diagnosed. My eyes seem to be bothering me too. Can this happen after having mono? I have been referred to an immunologist too, but not until January 28th. Can you give me some insight? Someone was concerned about MS. Everyone is a doctor. Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Weakness might be due to mononucleosis

Detailed Answer:
Hello Mam!

Thank you so much for writing in HealthcareMagic!

I understand your concern.Mononucleosis can leave you feeling tired and weak for weeks or months. Mono goes away on its own, but lots of rest and good self-care can help you feel better.

Take plenty of bed rest, drink plenty of water and fruit juices.Eat good food and do not push your self into strenuous physical activity.

Weakness can be a symptom of MS but I do not think you need to worry about it.You can always talk to your physician and rule it out.

Wishing you good health!
Hope this helps.Feel free to ask more.
