What Causes Vomiting And Abdominal Pain?

default
Posted on Mon, 8 Sep 2014
Question: Hello My husband is 37. He said he felt 'full and yucky' in the tummy after breakfast this morning.
We went out for lunch and he ate a small portion, still feeling 'yuck'.
He vomited about an hour after. He said he would have vomited about 10 times! He has also had diorrehea.
He has shocking stomach cramps which he says is right over the tummy area. So bad he was kneeling over the side of the bed and was nearly in tears.

Just wondering if a gastro 'wog' bug can give you such terrible cramps or is it more likely to be food poisoning or something else?

Brief Answer:
GIT infection suspected,antibiotic required.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query on HealthcareMagic.

Abdominal pain, vomiting and diarrhea are all suggestive of gastrointestinal tract (GIT) infection.
The infection can be due to food poisoning or GIT infection.
An antibiotic for the infection is required for aerobic and anaerobic infection.
In the meanwhile hydration has to be maintained by taking fluids like soup, coconut water, ORS solution.
Try to give some light low calorie food for energy.

Consult your primary healthcare provider for prescription of antibiotic.

If you have more queries, I will be glad to answer.
