Question: My wife took SUPREP to prepare fora colonoscopyat 4PM at about five, after going to bathroom she vomited with what looks like blood. Is this a known side effect?

I am Dr.Muhammad Ahmad. I have read your question completely, i understand your concern and will try to help you in best way possible.

Vomiting is a common side effect of suprep kit but blood vomit is not necessarily its side effect. It might not be blood or it might be a small ulcer which could have bled.

Here the strategy which i would propose would be...wait and watch... use just 1 table spoon to syrup gavison and wait...if she vomits again and again you feel there is blood in vomitus then contact your doctor ASAP...

Otherwise there should not be any problem , only one episode of suspected blood vomiting is not a big problem but if it keeps repeating itself then it needs a doctor's attention.
