.. half a wafer on the tongue and she is better now.. went to pharmacy to fill the prescription and the pharmacist said it might interact the erythromycin and to try not to use it if possible.. is there any danger in using it as she is throwing up again . we ate giving her electrolytes but a bit worried still. wanted a second opinion

Brief Answer:
Vomiting can be due to erythromycin side effect

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to the HCM

I understand your concerns but don't worry. Erythromycin and ondansetrone can lead to arrhythmias in rare cases. This happens more when the child has congenital heart defects or electrolyte disturbances.

I would recommend you to reduce the dose of erythromycin or start with another appropriate antibiotic as per symptoms because such high doses can lead to vomiting as side effect.

Hopefully it will be of help.
Take care

OK thanks. . I'll talk to gp tomorrow. . for today it is OK to give the ondansetron to stop the vomiting?
thanks for that.. because they gave it in hospital I had assumed it was OK and given another dose.. there won't be any ongoing issues with the doses he has had

You may give domperidone

Hi
I would recommend you to give Domperidone drops for relief from vomiting instead of ondansetrone. Also, hold the dose of erythromycin for the time being.
