What Causes Vomiting After Having DayQuil?
Question: My girlfriend vomitted. Bright pink. I attributed the color to the coating on the dayquil she had an hour earlier. She feels much better, but I am concerned.
depends upon how much time before vomiting she took day quil.. does she have any stomach issues or pain ? why did she vomit? any nausea of pain lately?

About 30 minutes after the pill. She developed a cold last night, and her throat has been sore. She's asleep right now. Felt relieved afterwards. Photo is the vomit in discussion.

Firstly, my mistake, they were XXXXXXX seltzer plus pills. acetaminophen. The fluid inside was a red liquid very similar to the vomit. I neglected to take a picture of the fluid. my apologies.
She said the vomitting was accompanied by a headache and a sense of nausea. After the vomit, the feelings of nausea passed.
Last night she was developing a sore throat and didn't mention anything about nausea.

I am glad that you have seen the fluid inside the pill yourself that must have given you the clue what it could be and it must be satisfying for you to know that it can be because of the pill.
MY OPINION:
I know your concern is the red vomit and the first thing which comes in our mind is blood, and its always horrifying to suspect blood in vomit.
But in my opinion that isn't blood, and as a doctor let me assure you that doesn't look like blood to start with. Blood never mixes with vomitus and water so uniformly, its mostly in patches of clotted form. And as we now know that fluid in pills was same red colour so i feel little doubt while making the opinion that it is the fluid in the pill which gave red colour to vomitus.
What else you can do:
Still to rule out bleed further you can ask her to check her stool colour when she defecates in next 2-3 days, bleeding in stomach gives black tarry colour to the stools and if stool colour stays normal for next 1-2 days it means there wasn't anything wrong.
One can feel nausea when having flue or upper respiratory tract issues just stay calm and ask her not to panic there seems to be nothing wrong except the throat irritation , which is a regular day to day matter.
