Brief Answer:
Exclusive breast feeding is best for your baby

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

Nothing should be given to baby except breast milk till 6 months,so avoid these.
You should not give anything to your kid before 6 months age except mother's milk, not even water. All medicines must be as per your doctor's prescription. I think you should avoid ayurvedic medicines until 6 months age also.

Please note that breast feed is the best possible food for a baby. In case the baby is receiving breast feeds, you need not worry. But formula feeds are primarily cow milk based and hence difficult to digest and may be the cause of vomiting. In that case, switching over to breast milk should provide the child relief. If that is not the case, you would need to visit a pediatrician and get the child examined to rule out other serious causes.

The other possible cause for vomiting is that you are not burping the child properly after each feed. Hold the child erect for 20 mins after each feed. If the vomiting still occurs, consult your doctor.

Regarding sleep habits, please do not worry. The child will get the amount of sleep it requires.

Hope that clarifies your queries.

Brief Answer:
Try low lactose or soy based formula. If not relieved, see a doctor.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back.

Breast milk is produced in response to the child's demand. If the child is hungry, it sucks more and in response to this increased suck, the breast milk production increases. If external feeds like Dexolac Premium 1 are given, the hunger of the baby is reduced and the child no longer sucks well and hence the breast milk production also comes down. Since you have already been giving top feeds, I am not sure how much can be done to increase the breast milk production at the moment. However, considering the present scenario you may try the following:
1. Try giving the baby Zerolac or any low lactose formula and see if the vomiting comes down.
2. In case appreciable difference is not observed, you would need to visit a doctor and get the baby checked.
3. In case, the activity or the frequency of passage of urine comes down, you will have to rush the child to a doctor at the earliest.
4. Is stools are loose, you would need to give ORS (oral rehydration solution) like Pedialyte one small XXXXXXX mixed in a glass of water (200ml) and given gradually.

Hope that helps.
