What Causes Visible Painful Veins On Leg Post Leg Massage?

default
Posted on Thu, 30 Oct 2014
Question: 2 weeks ago I had a very painful leg massage during a pedicure. My shin bone was rubbed very very hard and for a good amount of time and had to ask her to stop. Afterwards, it felt bruised but a bruise never came up. I proceeded to continue to do light exercise throughout the week. Now for the past week I have had mild swelling, visible veins (i am very pale), a few bruises and 4-5 hard pea sized lumps under the skin that are tender to the touch.

Brief Answer:
Get clinical evaluation and Doppler done.

Detailed Answer:
Hello

In view of details and swelling persisting after a week, I am suspecting a vein thrombosis.

Ideal would be to let doctor have look at it. Doctor is likely to advise you to get a color Doppler done to find out any abnormalities in your veins. Other possibility is subcutaneous haematomas.

Please see your doctor sooner.

Please ask if there are doubts. Regards
