default
Posted on Mon, 7 Apr 2014
Question: Hi there, I'm a little consued... I ovulated on Feb 16th (had strong ovulation signs and many positive tests). I had a cortisone shot on Feb 25 for my back. Then 2 days later (2 days before my period), I noticed a little bit of pink blood.. i thought this was implamantation bleeding.. however, 2 days after, it was more brown and more prominient.. a few times when i wiped it was dark red... anyways.. it went on for a few days/week and then stopped.. I had no idea if it was my period or what was happening. then March 8th, I wiped and it was dark red and a lot of blood.. then later that day nothing and the next day nothing... then the following day i had really bad cramps and had clotting and a lot more blood.. then the same day in the evening nothing at all.. now for the last week everytime i wipe there's still blood there... sometimes pink and brown.. and a few times still dark red.. no clots and i dont need a tampon or pantliner, only when i wipe... today in the morning when i wiped it was a lot more and yesterday it was pretty much gone... and now today there's a small streak and looks like it's more brown.. i have no idea what's happening.. i am trying to get pregnant so this is frustrating for me..what is happening.. can i still get pregnant if i'm having this weird spotting issue?? Also, will provera help with this at all?? Clomid?

Brief Answer: Definitely, can still get pregnant... Detailed Answer: Hi, I have gone through your medical history and understood your concerns. Further investigations are needed to understand why you are having such bleeding issues: - abdominal/transvaginal ultrasound - vaginal swab testing - pap smearing test - urine analysis Depending on the test results, specific treatment will be prescribed. Provera and/or Clomid could be among treatment options, however, your OG will decide which is the best therapy for you based on physical examination and lab results. After the cause of spotting issue will be completely treated, definitely, you can still get pregnant. Hope it helped! Let me know if you have further queries! Dr.Albana
