Question: What can cause the RUQ (just under the rib) to not only ache after eating/drinking cofffee or soda, but to also go numb?

Abdominal CT & MRI, and EKG & Cardiac stress tests dont show anything at all and docs cant find anything but its hard to not be concerned that after eating a meal, sometimes my RUQ goes numb and then i have to press my fingers into it to alleviate the pain.

Brief Answer:
Most like gastritis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for query.
As all baseline cardiac tests are normal the only possibility left is either Gastritis or Muscular pain.
Inflammation of the stomach is also known as acute gastritis.Possible causes and habits that could lead to acute gastritis include: medications like aspirin and some pain medicines that can harm the lining and walls of the stomach; the excessive consumption of alcohol; drinking alcohol, coffee, tea, and lemon juice on an empty stomach; and eating hot foods. When hot foods enter into injured areas of the stomach, the stomach lining and the interior walls slow or stop altogether the flow of blood in the stomach walls, causing reddening, irritation, and in some cases bleeding. All of this can gradually lead to chronic ulcers. An increase of uric acid in the blood can also be the cause of acute gastritis.
Honey
Eating bee honey regularly before meals helps fortify the walls of the stomach.

Add 2 tablespoons of bee honey to warm water and drink daily on an empty stomach. It will reduce the acidity of the stomach and the walls will heal themselves naturally.

Put 1 tablespoon of olive oil into a cup of hot or warm milk and take early each morning to cure the stomach of irritation, and this is the best treatment for gastritis.
Eating oatmeal with honey every day for breakfast is very beneficial for curing acute gastritis and ulcers.

Add 2-3 tablespoons of psyllium (ispaghol) to 1 cup of yogurt and add 1 banana. Eat every day a half an hour before breakfast. It is very beneficial for stomach health.

Treatment-

Usually we manage GERD with a combination of medication and lifestyle changes. If symptoms persist or are severe, innovative endoscopic and surgical procedures can be done that provide long-term symptom relief.

Use antacids like omeperazole or pantoprazole before meals. In my clinic, I suggest 40 mg before breakfast.

Using motility agents like domperidone will help with rapid stomach emptying and decreased refurge.

Don't lye flat right after meals but take brisk walk or stay upright for almost half an hour after meals.

Avoid spicy, greasy, oily foods as well as fizzy drinks. Avoid too much quantity if hot beverages.

Its very difficult to explain the cause of numbness.A MRI brain can be done to rule out any possible involvement of brain.

Report how you feel after a week.
