Brief Answer:
you need x ray of cervical spine.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Upper back pain near spinal cord is more seen in muscular spasm than lung infection. Many times coughing , sneezing cause forceful contraction of back muscle as thus can cause muscular spasm. but still we need to rule out vertebral cause and thus I advice you to get done x ray of cervical spine AP and Lateral view. If bony vertebrae are normal than it is mostly muscular pain.
Start painkiller with muscle relaxants.
Avoid painful movements of that part of back.
Apply pain creams locally.
Apply warm water locally during bath.
Start neck and back physiotherapy.
With all these, I think your pain will disappear.
Regarding asthma management, I advice you to first identify the allergen and make complete avoidance of it, if possible.
Esiflo is good for asthma control if taken in scientific manner. So please read the instruction manual carefully for proper technique.
Most common cause of asthma exacerbation(attack) is infection. So whenever you have fever with worsening of asthma, please get done CBC (Complete Blood Count) and chest x ray to look for infection. And if present you may need antibiotics.
Regarding asthma control and preventing attacks follow these steps.
1. Avoidance of allergen.
2. Take inhaled medicines regularly and in scientific manner.
3. Consult you pulmonologist regularly.
4. Get done PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) every six monthly and sos.
5. Vaccination with adult pulmonary vaccines like pneumococcal and influenza for preventive care.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
