Question: my daughter was given acetaminophen-cod #3 for the flu and still feels awful, she wants to take a ibuprofen PM to help her sleep. Would this be alright, she is 27 YO and normally a very healthy young women.....She took her last acetaminophen-cod #3 at 5 pm and it is now 9:37 pm

Acetaminophen cod 3 contains acetaminophen and codeine and ibuprofen pm contains ibuprofen and diphenhydramine.

The only possible effect would be increased drowsiness because both the diphenhydramine and codeine can cause drowsiness however since the acetaminphen cod 3 was used 5 hours ago,its effect would be wearing off.

The other medications are from entirely different drug families and would not cause any adverse or problematic interactions.

The ibuprofen pm can be taken
