What Causes Uncontrollable Movements All Over Body When I Am Sitting?

default
Posted on Fri, 9 Jan 2015
Question: when I am sitting all parts of my body are moving and my face is constantly changing and distorted. I am unaware this is happening. This has been going on for several years. In September I had a hip revision for a Curan hip prosthesis implanted in 2002 (metal on metal). I have extremely high levels of cobalt, chromium and titanium ions I my blood.

Brief Answer:
Movement disorder

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
It seems that you could be having Dyskinesia ,category of movement disorders that are characterized by involuntary muscle movements like abnormal movements in the face, uncontrollable movement of the upper body or lower extremities.
Secondary dystonia can be observed following discrete lesions in the striatum, pallidum, thalamus, cortex, and brainstem due to infarction, anoxia, trauma, tumor, infection, or toxins such as manganese or carbon monoxide.
Tardive dyskinesias are involuntary movements of the tongue, lips, face, trunk, and extremities and can occur following dental implants containing titanium ,though titanium and its alloys are extremely biocompatible.
You can undergo MRI brain and consult a neurologist for your movement disorder.
