What Causes Tightness In Left Hamstring And Upper And Lower Back?

Question: My left hamstring, upper left back and lower left back are very often tight and stiff. It seems to restrict my breathing.. which makes me tired when I sit as my breathing is restricted.

Is there anything that could be causing this and is there anything I can do to lessen it.

The feeling of tightness in a few muscles is often seen due to muscle fatigue, inadequate rest and lesser fluid intake. This can be relieved with passive stretching of the involved muscles, doing a hot compress and taking an oral muscle relaxant. You also need to do a regular exercise to keep the tone of your muscles intact. Increasing the intake of electrolyte rich fluids and fresh juicy fruits will also help.
In case the problem is persistent then it is best to consult your physician for a proper evaluation.
