What Causes Tightness In Chest And Occasional Stinging And Lightheadedness?

Question: Felt tightness in chess and some occasional stinging and light headed on occasion mainly at work. BP was 155 over 104 and Doc put me on Lisonopril 10MG. Next day felt light a champ. The 2nd day the slight dull ache came and went. Lasts couple of minutes goes away for 30 to an hour. Headaches and light head has not returned. just the slight dull ache. And the occasional dry cough. Usually last couple of minutes and done. Same dry cough that darn near all 700 people in our office has had all winter. BP today was much better 133 over 81. I can tell a difference. The slight dull or tingling feels like in chest wall. Can breathe in out deeply or fast or slow - feels normal breathing. Dry tickly in back of throat which could be reflux. The odd part is - burping even if I haven't eaten anything all day. Relieves pressure in the chest. Even odder - if inactive sitting in office of just getting off 3 hour flight - dull ache comes and goes. But when active such as spending 5 hours putting together son's basketball goal yesterday - not an ache once. Only other oddity - the old part of our building where my office was l located last 15 months - believe the ventilation system was 50 plus years old. Moved to the new office - and when returning to the old office - the musty stench was unbreathable. Literally - put hand over mouth and walk out. Now the Doc did listen to lungs - press around throat lower abdomen back - which is not a complete diagnosis but apparently nothing stood out in the quicky examine. He did keep saying or asking/inquiring about how stressful work was. I didn't bring it up he just kept mentioning it appeared I had a lot of stress. Not sure how you Docs may see or feel that but apparently it oozes from my face or body I don't know. not a lot of info Doc just curious if you have run across the weird part of inactive pain yet active - no pain.

Brief Answer:
I believe it is Anxiety.

Detailed Answer:
Hello! Thank you for asking on HCM! I read carefully your complains and seems that all the clinical scenario you describe is suggestive of ANXIETY. Let me explain about this preliminary conclusion. Anxiety produces fluctuating disturbances like yours (burping because of aerophagia, fluctuating pain like in the chest or abdomen, hypertension and tensive type headache, tickling in the throat, etc). And to support this reasoning line there is an evident subject generating stress: your unpleasant office background.
Another component that supports ANXIETY is the relief of all symptoms when you loose your mind in something (like playing basket, etc).
From the other side, we can't exclude on the first sight behind your digestive complains hiatal hernia and esophageal reflux.
So at the end I would recommend you to try an anxiolytic drug like Alprazolam 1-2x0.25mg/day and consult a psychiatrist for the above issues.
Hope to have been helpful to you!

Thank you very much. I sincerely appreciate you taking time to review. I know there may be more underlying issues but at least I can sleep for a night or two before I return home for further diagnosis.
