What Causes Throbbing Discomfort In Right Testicle?

default
Posted on Tue, 10 Feb 2015
Question: Hello, I have had a dull, throbbing discomfort on my right testicle. It is not something that prevents me from performing my daily tasks or exercising, but tends to get worse throughout the day and when I stand or sit for long periods of time. I first remember experiencing the discomfort when I began coughing excessively after I got a bad case of the flu last year. I went to a doctor who told me that it might have to do with my abdomen muscles being too tight from the coughing and for me to not worry. As I stated earlier, the discomfort is not bad but I am getting worried because it has not gone completely away. I usually perform groin and other yoga stretches throughout the day and that seems to help. I have also examined my testicles and there are no bumps or cysts. Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Inguinal hernia may cause testicle pain.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

In my opinion you may suffer from inguinal hernia.

Have you noticed :
-A bulge in your groin area when you stand upright and cough?
-Pain or discomfort in your groin especially when coughing or lifting?

If yes it may be an inguinal hernia which occurs as a result of increased pressure within the abdomen ( for example after chronic coughing ) or heavy lifting.

If you are not sure you should go to your doctor so that he or she will examine your groin area.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
