Brief Answer:
Information

Detailed Answer:
Hello Ms. XXXXXXX

Tenderness under the right rib cage can be from a number of things. At this site is the gall bladder and the lower end of the liver. If there is inflammation in these organs, it can be tender.

There are also muscles of the abdominal wall, and ligaments, and these can get strained or bruised.

The intestines can cause pain or aching there too, but this is usually more transient.

If the soreness continues, then do go in to be seen by your doctor or to an urgent care clinic.

I hope this information helps. Please let me know if I can provide further information or clarification.
