default
Posted on Fri, 11 Sep 2015
Question: My 63 year old brother just had a total memory loss episode in a store. He is on blood pressure med. his urologist recently prescribed Silotosin and he felt it wasn't good for him and stopped taking it. Then he started again. This was all in about a 2 week period. He is wondering if the Silotosin may be the cause of his memory loss episode. Any thoughts?

Brief Answer:
Silodosin is not the cause

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

Silodosin ( Silotosin ) is not responsible for these symptoms in my view. At best it can cause dizziness, insomnia or a lowered blood pressure. Such cognitive dysfunction has no likelihood of association with silodosin as the receptors it acts on are entirely different. CNS pathology like CVA or demyelinating disorder are much more likely then medication for this presentation.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks
