Question: I have le swelling and take maxide to get rid of water etc. Here lately, my right leg which is my worse leg for swelling has a lump or mass of blood forming on the bottom of my foot. If I wear hard shoes it goes away and comes back once ai sit down and am not putting any pressure on it. Its on the out side of the foot, more towards the heal and covers about 1/5 of the sole.

Brief Answer:
Considerations

Detailed Answer:
hello and thank you for sending the question.

It sounds like you may have developed a hematoma or collection of blood under the skin. this may have been caused by a mild degree of trauma or even twisting of the ankle.

I would suggest that you try to keep your leg elevated as much as possible when you're not walking around. You might also try some warm soaks to see if that helps as well.

If this persists for more than a couple of weeks I think you should probably have your primary care doctor take a look and perform a good physical examination.if you developed progressive pain or weakness that should be investigated as soon as possible.

Compression stockings me also help to alleviate some of the localized swelling. You can obtain these at your local pharmacy.

Thank you again for sending your question.

Sincerely,

Dr. Galamaga
