Question: My foot and ankle are swollen with no apparent injury. What can cause this? YYYY@YYYY

Ankle may swell because of various non trauma causes such as lymphedema,diabetic foot,arthritis,vein thrombosis. You should rest, keep leg elevated, apply cold compresses. If symptoms persist, you should do doppler ultrasound to rule out thrombosis.
