default
Posted on Thu, 24 Dec 2015
Question: Yesterday I had an injection of lidocaine, followed by an injection of a steroid near my eye. Two skin tags were also removed from my upper eyelid. Later I experienced a sharp burning sensation on my eyeball. Today the eyelid is quite swollen.

Brief Answer:
Inflammation

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the query

It looks like you have developed inflammation where the procedure was done. I strongly recommend that your approach your opthalmologist. If you were my patient I would have treated you with topical antibiotics like gatifloxacin eye drops and levocetrizine oral tablets for a period of 1 week.

Here are some further suggestions
1. Do not rub over the swollen area
2. Applying cold packs will help reduce the swelling
3. Make sure to keep the area clean and away from dust

I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me

Regards
