Brief Answer:
See a surgeon

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.

This may be sign of perianal or ischiorectal abscess and you should see surgeon/proctologist and do ultrasound to verify possible pus collection. If I am wrong then this may be just irritation due to hemorrhoids or anals fissure. In this case, steroid cream and warm baths and stool softeners may be enough for treatment.

Wish you good health.

Is there anyway of knowing which one it is? Is it safe tojust do the hemorrhoid treatment to see if it goes away, and if it doesn't then go to a proctologist?
