What Causes Swelling Of The Meatus Post Protected Sex?

default
Posted on Sat, 6 Sep 2014
Question: Hi, I'm XXXXXXX
Last night I had protected sex with a girl I've known only for a few days. Previously I've had unprotected sex with a girl I seem to trust and I believe to be honest that she has nothing.

This morning after protected sex with the girl I've only known a few days, I have been swollen in the meatus, left and right side. It seems there is two lumps on the inside. I'm genuinely worried about it and not sure what it is. My first assumption is genital warts. Please get back to me. XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Meatal lesions appear to be warts.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query on HealthcareMagic.
Swelling of the meatus can occur due to trauma associated with sexual activity.
Rest for couple of days will help to relieve the swelling.
The swelling on inner surface of meatus can be due to genital warts.
However, a clinical assessment by a dermatologist is required to confirm the diagnosis.
Removal of the meatal swellings is required.
The surgical removal has to be followed by histopathological examination to know the exact nature of the meatal swellings.
Sexual activity has to be refrained since viral infection causing warts is transmissible.

Thanks and take care

Are you positive that its genital warts ? The only other partner ive had sex with is my actual long term girlfriend which ive cheated on whilst my stay in XXXXXXX I had sex with her almost a week ago. Is it possible i could of caught it off her ?

Ive also been masturbating frequently. Mainly into a dirty sock (ones ive been wearing) without thinking i have a big wart on my right foot, is it possible ive contracted it from my foot and sock? I tend to wipe clean after ive finished. I jaw dropped in what tonsay or how to break the news to her.

Brief Answer:
Kindly, refer to detailed answer.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome again,
The clinical image is suspicious of a wart.
However, a clinical assessment is required.
The meatal swellings have to be removed else the lesions will cause discomfort.
The infection could have occurred due to transmission of viral infection from your foot.
It is not essential that the wart could have occurred due to sexual transmission only.

Thanks and take care

Brief Answer:
Barrier method will prevent transmission of virus

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome again,
I am afraid there is no cream or nutritional treatment for warts in case you have contracted this infection.
In order the find an evidence of viral infection, you can get a serological test for human papilloma virus which is responsible for viral warts.
It is possible to transmit the viral infection, however, it can prevented by using barrier method as contraceptive.
