What Causes Swelling In The Testicles Post A Blood Transfusion?

default
Posted on Tue, 16 Aug 2016
Question: I was released from the hospital ICU on Friday after receiving 4 units of blood for a possible tear in my colon. Colonoscopy scheduled for next week. This morning I got up and found my testicles the size of a grapefruit. No pain present, just an uncomfortable feeling.

Brief Answer:
I will say monitor only. Has it increased in size? Can you upload an image?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about uncomfortable pain in your testes. The immediate review doesn't seem to point to an urgent issue and may likely represent a transient observation than an ongoing disease process. I will suggest that you observe this only for now. Check for pain, increased in size and and fever. If any of these occur, report to me immediately for evaluation and more insights. If nothing happens before you appointment next week, let the doctors examine the testicles during the procedure for colonoscopy for this week.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask of more information and clarifications if need be.
