What Causes Swelling In The Right Foot?

Question: Hi Doc , I have swelling in my right foot after being on my feet all day. my foot is back to normal after a night of sleep or elevate my foot several hours! With red broken corpussels in the instep of my foot. What is the cause of this?

I have read and understood your health concerns.
Feet swelling do occur after prolonged standing. It is normal but in your age it need to be investigated for other organic causes.
If I am your attending physician I will definitely evaluate the status of your heart, liver and kidneys , after then I will be able to proceed.
There is need get your BP reading and blood sugar status and full blood count.
ECG and echocardiography along with kidney function and liver function tests should also be performed.
In light of these I will be able to proceed. There may be need to add diuretic drug if there is any pathology noted.
Stay calm and avoid salt intake.
