Question: Hello doctor my son is 3.5 yrs old.. recently he ate some chocolate with nuts and contracted an allergy. His face and ears blew up and spots appeared all over the body. He was given steroids for reducing inflammation. How can i prevent from this happening??

And proteins are allergic in susceptible individuals. So nuts allergy is very common.
So in my opinion, you should consult allergy specialist and get done food allergy testing.
This will show foods which are allergic in your son.
And you should avoid those food items to prevent such allergic reaction.
Oral combination of antihistamine (levocetrizine or fexofenadine) and anti allergic (montelukast) once a day at night is also beneficial.
