What Causes Swelling In Ear Lobe?

Question: I have had gauges for about 7 years. I have not done anything different recently. yesterday morning I woke up and my lobe was swollen and oozing a little. today it is 30 times worse. I have cleaned it with peroxide alcohol and put antibiotic ointment on it as well.

I am so sorry to hear about these symptoms that you have reported. I have taken a look at the image attached as well. From all the information, this is suggestive of an ongoing soft tissue infection like cellulitis or erysipela. If not managed early and appropriately, it can become a lot worse. You would need antibiotics to be able to appropriately address this condition. Antibiotic ointment would not be sufficient in this case. For this prescription, please talk to your treating physician.

In all, this is a soft tissue infection. Antibiotics to be taken by mouth are needed for appropriate treatment. Talk to your doctor for examination, confirmation and prescriptions. Please, avoid drugs like aspirin, Ibuprofen, indometacin, etc. as they would cause the infection to get worse!
