What Causes Swelling And Stiffness Of Right Hand Overnight And Legs Swelling?

Question: Hello for over 2months been having issues with my right hand swelling over night and very stiff. After moving about the hand would go back to normal. During this time both legs ached and ankles swell by days in legs very uncomfortable. Now for 2 days right hand very swollen with lots of pain and not able to bend fingers. Left hand swelling however no where near the right legs and feet painful and have to force myself to walk advise please

I'm Dr Sudhir Kumar

I have gone through your query and understand your concern.You need to be investigated for systemic causes of generalised edema. You need to got following test.
1. Heart function test (ECG , echocardiography)to rule out heart disease.
2.Kidney function test (serum creatinine, blood urea)to rule out kidney disease.
3. thyroid function test (T3, T4 and TSH)to rule out hypothyroidism .
4. Liver function test (serum albumin, serum globulins and A/Gratio)to rule out liver disease.
5. Rheumatoid factor test for rheumatoid arthritis.
6.ESR
Till then you can take analgesic such as ibuprofen for pain relief.
You can discuss with your doctor about it.
