What Causes Swelling And Discolouration In Lower Legs?

default
Posted on Mon, 14 Sep 2015
Question: I have bruised coloring on my left calf muscle to my ankles behind my legs and both my legs are swelling up daily, also there is what seems to be freckling that is spreading rapidly, my wife says it looks purple, I was wondering if it may be a blood pressure issue....because when I wear sox they leave an indent all around the lower calf and this is something I've never experienced but I am going to be 49 in December....I was a catcher / pitcher most of my adult baseball life...
Can you give me some insight on discoloring of legs and freckling/ swelling

Hello

Thank you for getting back with the answers. I have gone through them. The symptoms are suggestive of Eczema. It usually is multi factorial and takes a while to resolve. If i were your treating doctor then i would have advised following things:

- cetirizine one at night for 5 days
-
- apply Vaseline over skin twice a day
- don't wear tight clothes
- apply Betamethasone 1mg over the rash area
- avoid scratching the area else it might leave scar

Hopefully you will see improvement in 3-4 days BUT if condition remains same or aggravates then you need to visit hospital for further workup.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help if not then don't forget to close the discussion and rate it.
Wishing you good health !!
