Posted on Wed, 5 Oct 2016
Question: Hi.
I got my blood drawn for vitamin D3 test yesterday and after the test there is a blue patch around the injected area and a constant itching and swelling. Please advise the reason or if something that needs to be taken care of.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query, albeit short and specific.
The blood which gets extravasated can have an irritating action under the skin and the swelling is obviously due to the volume of blood.
This condition is usually self-limiting and the blood will be reabsorbed by the body.
The least you do, the least you fondle, it will be reabsorbed fast.
Please post a clear and focused photograph as it helps me to tell you better.
