What Causes Sunburn Like Feeling In The Arm?

Posted on Tue, 27 Jun 2017
Question: I was at the pool yesterday for three hours and today as well, because the weather was so beautiful and because I've been sick for about a week, just beginning to turn the corner after my doctor called in Doxycycline for me on Saturday. I had been put on Bactrim by a P.A. at an urgent care center that I went to on Thursday when I thought I had strep throat, but that wasn't working. I started to feel pain on my arms and my hands so I left the pool. I'm not burnt, but I am very XXXXXXX I put aloe on my arms but they still feel burnt and my hands are burning too. My fingers are also purple and feel very weird. Is this just a sunburn that doesn't appear burnt but I am or is it something to do with the excess sun with antibiotics? I usually only stay in the sun for an hour and a half but it was the holiday weekend. I wear a hat and sunglasses and use sunscreen.

Brief Answer:
Control your blood pressure please

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking in HCM

I can understand your concern and i have gone through your history

If you have a non coloured skin and a sensitive one yes it might be a sunburn .

I don't think this might be from antibiotics use and the sun in combination.

I would recommend you to measure your arterial pressure because given the fact that you have stay for a long time in the sun it may reflects now with a high arterial pressure and with the symptoms you are feeling.

Antibiotics may have some side effects but usually not of this kind you are experiencing.

You can do a warm bath and have a rest.Take some cold liquids too.

I am sure you will feel better after that.

If the situation gets worse than you should seek for medical help but i am sure it is not so serious.

However take care and feel free to ask me again.

My blood pressure is historically low - 92/62, so no, that is not a cause. This was a waste of money. As soon as I saw this was linked to a payment, I knew this was a scam.

rating 1.0
next time, don't advertise with a grey haired physician with 50 years of practice and a 4.8 rating, and then come back with an answer that is so far off point it is comical, from someone from Jacarta.

Brief Answer:
Please take another opinion

Detailed Answer:
Hi again

I am sorry that you have this opinion.

If you are not satisfied with my answer you can take another opinion from another doctor.

However the clinical picture of the patient is very important

And you can request for taking back the payment too.

Regards
