Posted on Fri, 5 May 2017
Question: I keep having brief loss of vision and hearing. I describe it as an old big box tv that I grew up with when you turn it off it makes a distinct noise and that is what I hear. My eye sight and hearing instantly goes but gradually comes back...sometimes I can hear a click in the back of my head before it happens. I suffer from daily migraines and nausea.

Brief Answer:
Aura, low blood sugar, to consider.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HealthcareMagic.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

Conditions that may relate to your symptoms may be:

- aura (or the initial symptoms of a migraine headache)

- low blood sugar

- positional vertigo ( if you also experience lightheadedness along with this)

Getting evaluated further by your primary care Doctor about these conditions and tests ( blood tests about sugar levels in blood etc.) is necessary to understand better your condition.

Hope you found the answer helpful. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Kind regards.

Could depression have anything to do with it? And also, I have a soft knot about a half inch in size behind my ear at my hairline. It has been there for about 5years and has never gone away..it isn't painful. Would either of these things be a factor in how I'm feeling?

Brief Answer:
Depression, or anxiety to be considered only if other conditions are excluded.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back,

Depression, anxiety, may cause similar symptoms like yours, but conditions that we discussed in our previous conversation should be investigated and excluded first.

The knot behind your ear may be an accumulation of fat under the skin and has nothing to do with your symptoms.

Hope I helped you.

Take care.
