Question: How to know if i have a parasite? Had stringy kind of muscus like substance come from my bowel movement and i was afraid it could be a tape worm? I have a photo are you able to upload photos?

Hi,

Thank you for the reports provided.

I have gone through the photo and it seems to be tenia. If I was your caring doctor would advise to :
- send the sample to the nearest lab
- send another stool sample to the lab

to get it fully tested for parasitic infections and confirm tenia and/or other parasites.

For the moment, I advise to:
- keep good hygiene especially when preparing food
- take OTC Albendazole medication to treat it
- cook your food well especially meat
