Brief Answer:
Unlikely HIV but need to confirm by HIV tests.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to HCM.

I have read your query and understand the concern.

Stomach and chest pain, headache, red spots on tongue, mild sore throat with pain over testis are unlikely due to HIV infection.

However, fever and swollen lymph glands with diarrhea are the commonest symptoms of early HIV infection which is NOT listed in your query.

But I will want to rule out HIV by doing blood tests if I were your treating physician since you have history of exposure.

So, according to my advise you should go for HIV RNA test which is highly sensitive & specific test with nearly 100% accuracy after 5-6 weeks of exposure.

HIV Duo test (consists of P 24 antigen test and HIV antibody test) would also be a good option.

This test is highly accurate at 5-6 weeks. P 24 antigen can be detected early as 2 weeks whereas HIV antibodies usually appear by 5 weeks in most cases (but not all) of those infected and by 12 weeks in 100% of those who are infected.

Also, p 24 antigen can be detected only till the time antibodies appear in circulation, so testing for both (antigens and antibodies in the same test) at 5-6 weeks would be able to detect either of these in case of an infection.

Meanwhile you may take symptomatic treatment for all these symptoms.

Take over the counter pain killer (diclofenac 100mg or naproxen 400mg) with antacid (pantoprazole 40mg) from relief of stomach and chest pain.

Take antihistamine Tab.levocetrizine 10 mg twice daily with salt water gargles or antiseptic mouth wash would be helpful for symptomatic relief.

However, you may need to see a doctor to rule out any other infection (viral or bacterial) especially for your testicles pain.

Hope this answers your query.

Brief Answer:
be related to mucositis of the tongue with pharyngitis or stomatitis.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for posting folow-up the query.

The symptoms described by you seem to be related to mucositis of the tongue with pharyngitis or stomatitis but the clinical examination of oral mucosa and throat will confirm the diagnosis.

So,it would be wiser to consult your doctor at the earliest to confirm the same and plan for appropriate management.

Meanwhile, encourage yourself to drink plenty of warm water. Or do warm saline rinses 2 to 3 times a day.

Maintain good oral hygiene and use antiseptic (like chlorhexidine) mouthwash regularly.

Avoid spicy/chilled food & beverages/coffee/fried food/alcohol/smoking (if any).

You can also try OTC pain relievers such as diclofenac or naproxen.

Hope I have answered your query.

Regards,

Dr.Sandip Kabra
