What Causes Stomach Pain After Consuming Alcohol?

default
Posted on Fri, 24 Jun 2016
Question: Hello Dr. XXXXXXX

So I have been to the doctor last thursday and asked the prescription and he gave me Septra for 45 days and naproxen for 10 days. I did the urine test after prostate massage also and I am waiting for results. My symptoms were getting better only after 2 days but Saturday night I had a lot to drink and Sunday morning the pain in the bottom of my stomach was back.. Does alcohol irritate the prostate or the bladder (not quite sure which one is affected)? Should I stop drinking while doing the 6 weeks treatment? If not how much alcohol should I drink without causing any pain?

Thank you very much!

Avoid excess of alcohol

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for follow up .

The symptoms that you had afetr consuming alcohol are due to alcohol induced gastritis and due to any prostate or bladder issue .

Avoid heavy alcohol till you finish up the course of medication or get cured .

taking H2 receptor antagonist like Pantaprazole will help to relieve your symptoms .

Thanks and Regards.

When i press on the bottom of stomach under the belly button i feel as if liquid was stuck in there, it does a lot of noise and accompanied by a lot of gasses .. I dont understand what is causing all of this.. Can it be the septra combined with the naproxen and flomax. First day I have this since i started to take those pills last friday. How can this be linked to prostatitis? Sorry for all those questions I am just having a hard time figuring out what is my problem and what i need to do to cure it.

Thanks

Brief Answer:
You need to consult Urologist and Gastroenterologist .

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for follow up.

The pain in abdomen can be due to any intestinal pathology but unlikely to be due to Prostatitis.

Consult qualified Gastroenterologist for detail evaluation and to establish diagnosis so that treatment can be planned in right direction .
