Brief Answer:
Colonoscopy should be done.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Is your stool black like a tar or just dark brown? Do you have any gas obstruction?

Such symptoms at your age (over 50) should be checked with possible large intestine obstruction. The risk of polyps and colon cancer significantly rises over the age of 50. That is why colonoscopy should be done.

If you have black like a tar stool, bleeding from stomach ulcer can be the reason. In such case this is urgent.

Also if you can not pas gas freely, your abdomen is bloated, you do not urinate much (urine is dark), partial bowels obstruction can be the case which is also an urgent condition.

I suggest you to do not wait with it. Please consult your doctor and have abdominal ultrasound, abdominal x-ray and blood work done. Colonoscopy should be scheduled.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
