Posted on Mon, 6 Oct 2014
Question: Hi,

I donated blood today through blook donation camp in my office. By end of donation, I felt giddiness and fainted( A nurse was near by and I informed her . Looks like she immediately stopped taking blood . I woke up by a Dr asking me my name.
They gave juices and biscuit and i felt better after few minutes. I was returning to my cubicle and I again felt giddiness and felt like vomiting.

An assistant from the camp came and he gave some salty water and asked me to vomit. Though I could not vomit much , i felt better. He said, its due to gastritis or something along that line. He also said, its common issue.
I generally feel like my stomach is bloated. Now also feel like, my stomach is fully loaded thought i only had three slice of bread, buter jam in the morning.
Let me know why i feel boating stomach and what steps i need to take further. I generally delay food because of this bloating stomach feeling. How to avoid bloating stomach?

Here are my usual timings
Breakfast - 10 am
Lunch -1.30
Dinner- 9 pm

Bed time around 12pm and gets up around 7.30 am

Thanks,
doctor

Brief Answer:
Commonly known as Dyspepsia

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for writing in
The episode of fainting could be because of vasovagal if this is the first time you donated blood
Gastritis will not cause fainting
Hypoglycemia under stress can cause diziness

For bloated stomach I think you need to avoid spicy, fried and fermented meals
Take a good antacids and a probiotic for two weeks
If this does not work add a proton pump inhibitor like pantoprozole 30 minutes before food twice a day

Hope this helps
