Brief Answer:
D' free (Piroctone, climbazole combination) is effective

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX. Thank you for writing to us

Dandruff is a chronic and recurrent problem.
Dandruff is also common cause of increased hair shedding therefore controlling dandruff effectively would control excessive hair fall too.

Rather than using a normal cleansing shampoo, in patients with dandruff it is better to use an antidandruff shampoo, regularly i.e every alternate days Or twice weekly. Regular shampoo with an antidandruff shampoo keeps dandruff as well as hair fall due to dandruff under check.

The product that you inquire about (D'free lotion/ shampoo) contains piroctone, climbazole, ZPTO as active antifungal ingredients in this shampoo.
This combination of ingredients is a very effective formulation and you may definitely use it.
The method of use remains the same with it i.e lather it well onto wet scalp and allow it to act for 5-7 minutes before rinsing it off.

In addition to antidandruff shampoo, In patients with sticky dandruff and scalp itching I also suggest a topical steroid lotion e.g mometasone furoate 0.1% lotion, to be applied once daily at scalp skin and left overnight.
Dandruff is a steroid responsive skin condition and responds very effectively to topical steroid lotions.
Topical steroids can be discontinued, once scalp is dandruff free i.e usually after 2 weeks.
Thereafter, improvement can be maintained with an antidandruff shampoo.

For dry and tangled hair, you may use a good conditioner, every time after shampoo e.g Dove Or L'oreal conditioner.
