What Causes Stabbing Pain In The Testicle?

Question: I am getting a sharp stabbing pain in my left testicle for the second day it only happens every 10 or twenty minutes apart but it is very acute and only lasts about 2 or 3 seconds. I am 76 a bachelor and have not been sexually involved for many years.

Thanks for your query,based on the facts that you have posted the sharp pain in testicle is mostly due infection of Epididymis (Epididymitis)

I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem.
1) Do you have any urinary symptoms like dysuria,frequency ,etc ?
2) Do you have fever ?

You need to get following basic tests done to establish diagnosis
1) Urine routine and Urine culture
2) Ultrasound Scanning of Scrotum
3) Ultrasound Scanning of abdomen and pelvis to rule out enlarged prostate .

In the mean while start taking antibiotics like Cefexime with anti inflammatory medication like Diclofenac or Brufen twice daily .

Further treatment will depend upon result of these tests and final diagnosis.
